Scion is Toyota's
youth-oriented brand that was launched in 2002. Because of the brand's young lifespan,
all of the models can be found on the used car market.
The company's first model was the xA five-door hatchback. Although generally well-received,
it was eventually replaced by the updated
xD in order to bring it closer to Toyota' Yaris hatchback.
Perhaps the most iconic Scion is the
xB, a compact wagon that is immediately recognizable due to its eye-catching
box design. It was launched alongside the xA, with Toyota believing that the more
traditional xA would outsell its larger counterpart. Yet the
xB proved to be a big hit for the line and helped pave the way for the company's
brand and image.
Scion introduced the
tC shortly thereafter, which is the company's only true sedan, although
it has two rather than four doors and features a liftback trunk.
When drivers are shopping for a used vehicle, they should be aware that many
Scion owners have chosen to customize their vehicles with
company-approved or aftermarket parts and accessories. Because Scion is owned by
Toyota, drivers will be able to take advantage of the company's pre-owned vehicle
if they purchase their car on the used market.
