Rolls Royce
Motor Cars is a British automaker based out of Sussex, England. The company is owned
by
BMW, which
also owns the luxury brand
Bentley.
The
Phantom is a popular model that began production in 2003,
which drivers may find in the used car market. While the sedan's 6.75-liter V12
engine is sourced by BMW, the remaining parts of the car are unique to the Rolls
Royce brand. It generates 453 hp and achieves 60 mph from rest in 5.7 seconds.
There have been several versions of the Rolls Royce
Phantom throughout the years, and new body styles were
introduced in 2007 and 2008, the
Phantom Drophead, which is a two-door convertible version,
and the
Phantom Coupe, respectively.
In 2010, Rolls Royce introduced the Ghost, which began production in 2006. The new
sedan is smaller than the Phantom, and is equipped with a 6.6-liter V12 engine powered
by an eight-speed transmission. Its maximum speed is 155 mph, and it receives 563
hp and 575 lb-ft torque. The Ghost can reach 60 mph from rest in 4.7 seconds.
