The Italian-based automaker
Lamborghini, which began production in 1963, is one of
the finest luxury car brands in the world.
Lamborghini's entire model range is made up of mid-engine, two-seat sports cars.
The manufacturer deals only with high-performance vehicles, currently offering four
in its model range.
The one model equipped with a 5.2-liter ten-cylinder engine is the
Gallardo LP560-4, which has a base price of $201,000. This model is also
available as a convertible in the
Spyder edition.
The remaining models are all built for optimal performance with V12 engines. The
Murcielago LP640 operates on a six-speed semi-automatic transmission and
can achieve 60 mph from rest in 3.8 seconds. The
LP640 Roadster is even faster, going from zero to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds,
and has the ability to reach up to 210 mph.
The fastest of all current Lamborghini models is the LP670-4 SuperVeloce, which
takes only 3.2 seconds to get to 60 mph and generates 661 hp at 8,000 rpm.
One of Lamborghini's defining characteristics is the use of vertical doors on its
sports cars.
