Hummer is
a famous and iconic truck brand that went out of business earlier this year, despite
the company's marked success in the early part of this decade.
Since the brand is no longer sold new and many Hummer dealerships have shut down,
the only place to find these vehicles is on the used car market. While Hummers were
once quite expensive, drivers with an affinity for large trucks can likely find
a deal on these models now that they have fallen out of style.
Over its lifespan, Hummer offered three separate vehicles. The
H1 was the original Hummer and is quite similar to a military humvee. The
H2 is probably the best known Hummer as well as the largest vehicle offered
by the company, and was available in the traditional squared-edges style or with
a pickup bed option. The last iteration of the Hummer was the
H3, which was the smallest model offered in an effort to address concerns
about fuel economy.
Despite the company's demise, the Hummer is still considered to be the king of off-roading
as well as a solid luxury truck. General Motors has announced that it will continue
to support any Certified Pre-Owned Hummers bought on the used market. For fans of
the car, it's a great time to buy as prices have dropped off considerably compared
to the heights of their popularity.
