Cadillac is a storied American brand that often functions as General Motors' luxury
division because of the high-end cars it produces.
With Cadillac, much of the hype this decade is centered around the
CTS. The
CTS has earned top honors from the automotive press,
including Motor Trend's Car of the Year for 2008. Most recently, it placed as the
third best car on Car and Driver's prestigious 10 best list in 2010, its third consecutive
year making the list. Car and Driver went on to say that the
CTS was "maybe the best American car ever made."
Cadillac has taken the praise to heart and has introduced variants of the
CTS. These include the
CTS-V, a high powered performance version, and the
brand-new
CTS Sport Wagon and Coupe, which also have the "V"
option. While much of the praise has been heaped on the second generation of the
car, made since 2008, the original incarnation was no slouch either, debuting in
2002 and winning the North American Car of the Year.
The other winner for Cadillac as of late has been the
Escalade. Ingrained in popular culture as the premier
luxury SUV, the
Escaladehas spawned a number of imitators across other
brands, including its own
Escalade line within Cadillac. Options here include the
Escalade
ESV, a longer-wheelbase version of the car and
Escalade EXT, a pickup truck.
