The Toyota Matrix is a compact hatchback vehicle that has been in production since 2002. It is also known as the Toyota Voltz.
There are two powetrain options for the Matrix - the first of which is a 1.8-liter I-4 engine that achieves 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft torque at 4,400 rpm. The second is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder motor that produces 158 hp at 6,000 rpm and 162 lb-ft torque at 4,000 rpm. These engines are offered with a five-speed manual, four- or five-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of fuel consumption, the Matrix gets an estimated 21 city and 29 highway miles per gallon.
