The Toyota Highlander is a mid-size crossover SUV that has been in production since shortly after its unveiling at the 2000 New York Auto Show.
There are three powertrain options for the Highlander. The standard edition is equipped with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, receiving 187 hp at 5,800 rpm and 186 lb-ft torque at 4,100 rpm. Those in search of higher performance can opt for the 3.5-liter V6 motor, which generates 270 hp at 6,200 rpm and 248 lb-ft torque at 4,700 rpm. The SUV is also offered with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine.
Features of the Highlander include a six-disc CD changer, XM Satellite Radio with a free trial subscription, up to nine speakers, iPod integration, Bluetooth connectivity, a voice-activated touchscreen navigation system with real-time traffic information, rear-seat DVD entertainment, a rear-view camera for backup assistance, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, remote engine start and more.
