The Mercury Mountaineer is a mid-size sports utility vehicle that was produced by Ford Motor Company from 1997 through 2010.

The SUV was made in seven different colors - White Platinum, Blue Flame, Black Pearl Slate, Sangria Red, Black, Brillian Silver and White Suede. Customers were offered the option of Charcoal Black or Camel interior upholstery with leather trim.

Mountaineer customers have two powertrain options. The standard edition features a 4.0-liter V6 engine, generating 210 hp and 254 lb-ft torque, and operates with a five-speed automatic transmission. This version of the SUV is able to tow 5,000 lbs.

For higher performance and towing capability, there is a 4.6-liter V8 engine available. It produces up to 292 hp and 315 lb-ft torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the V8 edition can tow more than7,000 lbs.

Features include a reverse sensing system for backup assistance, voice-activated touchscreen navigation, power moonroof, rear sear DVD entertainment and SIRIUS Satellite Radio offering more than 130 different channels.
