The Chevrolet Silverado is a full-size pickup truck produced by General Motors. The hybrid version of this popular model was introduced in 2005 as a first for the automaker.

While regular gasoline editions of the Silverado have multiple body style options, the Silverado is currently only available with a crew cab and short box. However, customers are able to choose between two- or four-wheel drive.

The two trim levels of the pickup truck, 1HY and 2HY, are both equipped with a 6.0-liter V8 engine with a two-mode hybrid propulsion system mated to a hybrid-specific, four-speed transmission. The Silverado can generate 332 hp at 5,100 rpm and 367 lb-ft torque at 4,100 rpm, receiving up to 22 mpg with the 26-gallon fuel tank.

In terms of safety, the truck comes with driver and passenger airbags and General Motors' OnStar communications service. With the 2HY edition, the vehicle is equipped with rear parking assistance, fog lamps and a defogger.

The latest version of the Silverado is available in several different colors, including Sheer Silver, Steel Green, Imperial Blue and Red Jewel.
