The Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid is a mid-size sedan that debuted at the 2008 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and was produced for the 2009 and 2010 model years. It was designed as a competitor to the Toyota Camry Hybrid.

The Malibu is powered by a 2.4-liter Ecotec V4 engine, as well as a 36-volt electric motor-generator. It generates up to 164 hp at 6,400 rpm and 159 lb-ft torque at 5,000 rpm. Its fuel economy is 26 city mpg and 34 highway mpg, running on a 16-gallon fuel tank.

Reviews of the hybrid version have mentioned its sportier body style, with its short rear-deck profile, round tail lights and reworked front end featuring a two-tiered grille. On the interior, drivers can enjoy a two-tone, twin-cockpit theme.

Features of the Malibu Hybrid include cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, keyless entry, XM Radio, iPod connectivity, and power doors and windows. There is also a power sunroof available as an option.

In terms of safety, Chevrolet offers front, side and side-curtain airbags, electronic traction and stability controls, tire pressure monitoring and more.
