The Chevrolet Avalanche is a four-door sports utility truck that can seat up to six passengers. It began production in 2002 by General Motors.
Available in both two- and four-wheel drive, the Avalanche is equipped with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that is powered by gasoline or E85 FlexFuel. It operates with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and produces 320 hp at 5,400 rpm and 335 lb-ft torque at 4,000 rpm. In terms of fuel economy, the 31-gallon tank allows for up to 15 city mpg and 21 highway mpg.
There are three trim levels for Avalanche customers to choose from - LS, LT and LTZ - and their key features include leather upholstery, bucket seating, Bluetooth and MP3 player connectivity, navigation system, rearview camera, heated and cooled front seats, XM Radio and OnStar.
OnStar is a subscription-based communications service provided by General Motors, offering roadside assistance and emergency crash response for occupant safety.
The Avalanche is available in 11 different colors, including Blue Granite, Steel Green, Inferno Orange, Taupe Gray, Sheer Silver and Victory Red.
