The Buick Lucerne is a four-door sedan produced by General Motors. It was introduced in 2005 in Chicago using a revised platform formerly seen on the Pontiac Bonneville.
Buick offers two engine options for Lucerne customers. The first is a 3.9-liter V6 SFI engine that generates up to 227 hp and can run on either gasoline or the alternative fuel E85. Drivers looking for a higher-performance vehicle can choose the V8 edition running on a 4.6-liter Northstar motor, which produces 292 hp and 288 lb-ft torque. The V8 is powered by an automatic gearbox.
In terms of fuel economy, the automaker claims that the sedan provides 17 city mpg and 26 highway mpg.
The Lucerne is equipped with GM's OnStar communications service, which offers a navigation system, roadside assistance and much more. It also comes with XM Radio and NavTraffic, the latter of which provides real-time traffic reports so drivers can be aware of construction, detours, accidents and other obstacles.
Beginning at $29,730, the 2011 Lucerne is available in four trim levels - CX, CXL, CXL Premium and Super.
