Saturn
Saturn was one of the brands that GM chose to discontinue in an effort to stave off bankruptcy. While drivers will not be able to find new Saturns, they can likely find lightly-used vehicles on the used car market, where they are still supported under the GM Certified program.
When the brand ended, five Saturn models were in production. This included the VUE and Outlook crossovers, Aura sedan, Astra compact and Sky roadster.
The Aura is the main passenger car for those interested in the Saturn brand, although drivers may find an ION compact sedan, which was discontinued before the brand ended. When shopping for an Aura, its important to make the distinction between the XR and XE editions. The XR is the performance-oriented version, featuring the same engine as the Cadillac CTS, and as such should be considered at a premium above the XE. Saturn also briefly made a "green line" hybrid version of the Aura before it was discontinued.
The VUE was the best-selling Saturn model for many years before the brand's demise. Like the Aura, it also had a "Green Line" hybrid option in addition to a "Red Line" high-performance option.
Families may also want to keep their eyes peeled for the Saturn Relay, the first and only Saturn minivan. This model was only made for a brief two-year stretch before being cancelled, making it a rare find on the used market.
