Nissan
Nissan is the third-largest Japanese automaker, and one of the biggest car manufacturers
in the world. They make a full line of cars, trucks and SUVs. Recently, they have
entered into a two-way alliance with French automaker Renault to share parts and
technology.
The Altima is the company's flagship vehicle, and is available in coupe, hybrid,
or standard mid-size sedan models. Among Nissan's sedans, it is sandwiched between
the full-size Maxima and compact Sentra.
The company has also entered the compact hatchback market as of late with the Nissan
Versa. It recently debuted the futuristic looking Nissan cube, which is based off
the Versa and features the same engine, but with a box-like shape that helped earn
it a 2010 "Top Safety Pick" award.
Nissan's line of crossovers and SUVs have been quite successful for the company,
ranging from the compact crossover Rogue to the full-size Armada. The Nissan Pathfinder
is a classic SUV that the company has made since the mid-eighties.
Sports cars have been another winner for Nissan, with their 370z coupe receiving
acclaim for high performance at an affordable price. Critics have also raved over
the GT-R, which stands up well against European supercars without a six-figure price
tag.
