Kia

Kia, owned by its countrymate Hyundai, is a car company based out of South Korea. Although the company markets vehicles all over the world, its primary focus is Europe.

Economy is the name of the game at Kia, where all of their passenger cars are priced at less than $20,000. As such, many of Kia's cars are known for their compact design.

The Rondo and Soul are Kia's "MPVs," a European term meaning multi-purpose vehicle. Smaller than a crossover but bigger than a hatchback, these cars are designed to offer room and storage space at a reduced price. The key difference between these cars is the Soul's futuristic design, that opposes the Rondo's more traditional look, although the Rondo is a bit bigger.

In terms of sedans, Kia makes the Rio, Forte, and Optima. The Optima is a traditional mid-size car and the company's largest passenger car. The Rio is the smallest, while the Forte fits somewhere in between. The Forte comes as a 2-door coupe while the Rio can be ordered as a 5-door hatchback.

Kia's SUVs are a bit more expensive, but still emphasize value. The compact Kia Sportage crossover is the entry-level SUV, while the mid-size Kia Sorrento crossover is the company's most critically-acclaimed and widely-marketed model in North America. The company also makes the luxury-oriented Borrego and Sedona minivan, the largest vehicles in its fleet.
