Aston Martin
Aston Martin is a British-based manufacturer of exotic sports cars, perhaps best
known in popular culture for being superspy James Bond's car of choice. Until 2007,
the company was owned by Ford before being sold off to a private investor group.
The signature Aston Martin is the DBS, which is Bond's main ride. The DBS currently
comes in two incarnations: the DBS or DB9, the second of which offers slightly more
power. Both are also available as convertibles, which Aston Martin calls "Volantes."
The cars made by Aston Martin are known for their elegance and power. For example,
the Aston Martin Vantage, available with a V12 engine, boasts 510 horsepower. Aston
Martin also allows drivers to add their personal touch to the car through a wide
range of interior customization options, right down to the stitching used on the
seats. Along with the DBS, the Vantage is available for a limited time in a special
Carbon Black metallic paint.
Aston Martin recently debuted a four-door sports sedan, the Aston Martin Rapide.
Like its fleetmates, it also comes with a V12, although the larger size gives it
slightly less power.
Of course, all those horses might not be enough for some folks. For them, there's
the Aston Martin One-77. Nobody is sure of the exact pricing on this mythic model,
and the official website only shows the car in action, but some experts estimate
its value at over $1.5 million dollars. Buyers will have to decide whether the 700
horsepower and 0-60 in 3.5 seconds is worth it.
