Smart

Smart is a brand of microcars manufactured by Daimler AG. Although popular in Europe and other parts of the world, the brand has only recently begun to be sold in the United States.

Smart cars are immediately recognizable due to their extremely small size. The company currently offers one model, the fortwo, available in three packages.

The fortwo's length of just under nine feet makes it easy to park. In fact, three Smart cars can be parked sideways in spots normally reserved for parallel parking.

Another draw of the Smart car is its excellent fuel economy, currently rated at 33 mpg city and 41 highway. It is also classified as an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle, and some drivers may be eligible for a tax break from government programs.

The fortwo can be equipped with the "pure" base package, "passion" upgraded interior and exterior package, or "BRABUS" sport performance package. The BRABUS and passion models can also be bought as a convertible. Smart plans to introduce an all-electric version of the fortwo in the near future.
