Toyota is planning to stall some production 04/27/2011
Following the devastation brought to Japan due to the tsunami and earthquake, many analysts have been concerned as to what will happen to the auto industry, as the country is one of the main global suppliers of auto parts.

Toyota Motor Company announced that it will be slowing down an assembly plant in Brazil for three days over the next four weeks in an effort to cut production by more than 1,200 cars, according to Moneycontrol. The news provider reports that this is in part due to the Japan-related shortage of various auto parts.

Brazil is not the only area that is being faced with a cutback in Toyota production due to Japan. Rush Lane reports that the automaker has plans to reduce output in India by 70 percent between April 25 and June 4. Additionally, the news provider reports that Toyota is currently mulling over the possibility of shutting down some of its plants in the U.S. due to a shortage of auto parts.
