Toyota is on the rebound 06/02/2011
Although the earthquake and tsunami in Japan have devastated the country's auto supply, companies are working to get back on track. Despite some automakers looking toward the end of the year for full recovery, it appears as though Toyota may be bouncing back sooner than anticipated.
The Associated Press is reporting that Toyota's automotive production in Japan will recover to 90 percent of its pre-disaster levels by June. Previously, company executives had suggested that they were not going to return to normal levels until late this year.
The news provider also reports that previous estimates had indicated that the coming months would show Toyota at only 70 percent recovery, which shows the surprise that many automotive analysts may be facing.
However, the Economic Times is suggesting that other automakers are not so lucky when it comes to recovering from the disaster. Both Honda and Nissan executives have suggested that they will not be back to full production until sometime later in the year, with Nissan saying that it will recover by October.
