Top Gear names the Jaguar XJ its 2010 Luxury Car of the Year 12/10/2010
Top Gear Magazine, published by the people responsible for the hit television program of the same name, have named the Jaguar XJ the Luxury Car of the Year for 2010.

According to Totally Motor, Top Gear editor Jason Barlow said that no car has "slackened so many jaws" as the Jaguar model, which was ranked ahead of competing BMW and Audi models.

"We're delighted that the Top Gear team - definitely one of the toughest judging panels anywhere in the motoring world - have recognized what makes the XJ so special with this award," Geoff Cousins, the managing director of Jaguar UK, told the source.

The XJ features a powerful direct injection 5.0-liter V-8 engine capable of providing 385 horsepower as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also has a keyless entry and start system, while softgrain leather and mood lighting give the vehicle's interior an undeniable feeling of luxury.

The car makes use of technology to boost its luxury factor, featuring a voice control system, a digital dashboard and a full-color high definition navigation touch screen.
