The design of the Range Rover Evoque was inspired by 2008's Land Rover LRX Concept car. 08/20/2010
Land Rover celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with the debut of the Range Rover Evoque, its lightest and most fuel-efficient vehicle yet.

The crossover will be available in both two- and four-door models, as well as with petrol- and diesel-fueled engines. MotorTrend reports that the diesel version will have similar fuel economy to that of a Mini Cooper.

Evoque gets much of its interior design from the Land Rover LRX Concept, which debuted in 2008 at a Detroit auto show. Although the concept design was for a Land Rover, the company decided to use it for its Range Rover brand instead.

In the United States, the main model will have four-wheel drive and operate on a gas-powered V6 engine. The automaker announced that its European version will offer front-wheel drive, making it the first ever Land Rover vehicle with two-wheel drive.

Hybrid models of the Evoque will debut in two years, reports the news source.

The 2012 Evoque will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show on September 30, and will be available for sale in mid-2011.ADNFCR-3028-ID-19928510-ADNFCR
