The Jaguar XJ
03/21/2011
Luxury cars are always a fun and stylish drive, but which one is better: the 2011
Jaguar
XJ or the 2011
Audi
S6 Both have been featured prominently in the blogosphere thanks to the cars' popularity with rich and famous, but nothing else is similar between the two.
The Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V-8 engine that pushes 385 horsepower and 380 ft-lbs of torque, while the Audi boasts a 5.2-liter V-10 machine with 435 hp and 398 ft-lbs of torque, according to Edmunds.com. When it comes to power, the Audi wins by a landslide.
Both cars have a 6-speed automatic transmission, but the Jaguar has a better fuel economy with 16/23 mpg's city-highway. Audi's S6 received a 14/21 EPA rating.
Inside, the XJ comes standard with an HD radio and parking assistance, which don't come on the Audi. The regular luxury features such as a moonroof, iPod dock and keyless ignition are found in both cars.
With these facts, a judgement can be made. Thanks to the $4,000 cheaper price tag on the Jaguar, the XJ wins. Audi might have the power, but it doesn't have the grace and ability of the XJ.
