The Audi R8 GT will be available this summer 03/18/2011
Audi recently announced that it would be manufacturing just 333 2012 R8 GTs, with only 90 will hit the U.S. market sometime in the late summer, according to Edmunds Inside Line.
Pricing for the vehicle starts at $198,050, with a shipping charge of $1,250. The automaker claims that R8 GT is the "lightest, fastest and most powerful entry in the Audi supercar lineup."
Consumers who decide to purchase the Audi can expect it to be powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine, which can achieve 560 hp. The powertrain is mated to the car company’s R tronic sequential manual transmission. The R8 GT can reach 60 miles per hour in less than 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 199 miles per hour, the news source reported.
In addition, car buyers will notice that the GT is 180 pounds less than the R8 5.2 edition because it uses carbon fiber. It also comes equipped with a carbon-fiber rear hatch, spoiler and diffuser, reported the news source.
The automobile's interior has been improved as well and, has a white instrument center and comes with black Alcantara seats.
