Subaru to reveal the 2010 Outback at the New York Auto Show 07/12/2010
Later this spring, Subaru will unveil the redesigned 2010 Outback at the New York Auto Show. The fourth-generation wagon is being marketed as larger, smoother and more powerful than last year's model.
The Outback receives a significant power boost in 2010, with a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine replacing the 2009 model's 3.0-liter V6. With a powertrain capable of producing 256 hp and 247 pound-feet of torque, this year's Outback will be the most accomplished off-road wagon that Subaru has manufactured, according to Auto Week.
Furthermore, in an effort to compete in the crossover SUV segment, the Japanese automaker has made the Outback much larger. It has increased ground clearance, cargo capacity, and rear seat space, resulting in 4 more inches in leg room for backseat passengers.
"We've made the vehicle much bigger, but we haven't turned it into a beast," said Dave Sullivan, product manager for the Outback and the Legacy, which will also debut at the New York Auto Show.
Additional standard features for the 2010 Outback include an electric parking brake with incline start assistance, fold-down rear seats and ambient lighting.
An electric parking brake with incline start assistance, ambient lighting and a 60/40 fold-down rear seat also are among the list of nice features on the new models.
