Subaru reveals new design philosophy with Impreza concept car 11/24/2010
Subaru has unveiled its new "Confidence in Motion" design strategy through the debut of the new Impreza design concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Impreza has been the Japanese automaker's leading compact car worldwide since 1992, and the new design concept represents a step forward in incorporating future design elements into production vehicles. A press release from Subaru of America states that the new concept car blends the ideas of "dynamic flow" and "confident stance" to "showcase Subaru's engineering core values of dynamic performance, safety, driving enjoyment and quality."
The car's front grille features a hexagonal pattern, a hallmark of Subaru designs. The front also features hawk eye-style headlights and spread wings embedded in the grille, giving the model a new three-dimensional character.
The vehicle also sits low and wide, with the car's profile dominated by sleek, continuous lines and clean surfaces. The car also features strong fender design and fin-shaped fog lamps with sharp-edged rear lights.
The interior design of the car grows from the automaker's "Dynamic, Enticing, Secure" theme. The instrument panel is smoothly integrated with the door trim and armrests, while a layered approach to color create an aura of sophistication.
