Saab releases information about its 9-3 convertible 03/01/2011
Saab recently confirmed it will reveal a limited edition of its 9-3 Convertible to celebrate the first anniversary of its sale from GM to Spyker, Edmunds Inside Line reported.
The vehicle, which is being marketed as the "Independent Edition," will have a soft top and will only be produced in 366 units. Consumers can purchase the car this spring, the news source reported.
The Independent Edition is inspired by the 9-3 Griffin Aero and will have an Amber Orange metallic paint and range-trimmed beige sport leather seats. It also comes with five-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels and a satin or chrome black finish.
The instrument panel will have a carbon-fiber design, as will the handbrake, gearshift molding and door handles. The steering wheel will be orange-stitched with leather and the carpet mats will have gray piping, reported the news source.
Consumers can expect the new edition of the Saab 9-3 to be equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine that can run on gasoline or E85 FlexFuel. Car buyers can purchase the vehicle with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
