Ram unveils new 1500 pickup truck trimline in Chicago 02/11/2011
Chrysler recently unveiled the latest trim line of the 1500 pickup truck made under its Ram marque at the Chicago Auto Show, reports Torque News.
The new Ram 1500 Tradesman reportedly comes with all of the base features included in the standard version of the truck, the 1500 ST. In addition, the Tradesman has a more powerful engine capable of producing 390 horsepower and 407 pound-feet of torque as well as a new 5-speed automatic transmission.
The Tradesman also has a number of features that make it ideal for towing, including a Class IV trailer hitch with both four- and seven-pin connections and an oil cooler and transmission cooler that help protect the car from damage caused by heavy loads. In total, the Tradesman boasts a towing capacity of 10,450 pounds.
"The Ram Tradesman is named for - and aimed at - the heart of our business. This is a hard-working truck for hard-working people," said Ram brand CEO Fred Diaz. "Durability, reliability and value for the money are the top three considerations for our customers. Their truck is the most important tool they own and one they’ll use every day. The Ram Tradesman is a truck they can depend on."
