Production for most Honda models will come back by August 05/31/2011
The earthquake and tsunami in Japan have devastated the resources of various automakers, with Honda really feeling the heat. However, it appears as though the Japanese automaker is regaining its strength, and after slowing down production over the next few months it could be back on its feet by the end of the summer.
Honda North America announced that its auto plants should be back to full production by August for all models except the 2012 Honda Civic. This will include Acura models such as the TL, MDX and ZDX.
Company executives noted how difficult the year has been for the automaker thus far, but pointed out that this is a sign that things will improve by the second half of 2011.
"The light at the end of the tunnel is glowing brighter for us, represented by this significant improvement in our production situation," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Company Incorporated. "Throughout this crisis, Honda has been fighting to achieve a speedy recovery, while maintaining a focus on our longer-term plans for continued growth in sales and production in order to meet the growing needs of our customers."
