Porsche will reveal the latest 911 model in Frankfurt this September. 07/01/2011
Porsche will unveil the 2013 911 model, the 998, at the 64th Frankfurt International Motor Show in Germany this fall. This model will focus on the reduction of emissions and fuel consumption, and rumors are flying about the possibility of the car getting a hybrid powertrain in 2016, according to Top Speed.

The new car will be longer and shorter than the last model and the style will come from the Panamera and the 918 Spyder concept car. SpeedLux caught a glimpse of the German sports car earlier this month, and reported that the 2013 design features a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, which combines the comfort of an automatic transmission with the thrill of a manual.

The car will be powered by a Boxer engine, which will allow the new car to race from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds and top out around 180 miles per hour. The Carrera S will have a slightly more powerful engine that shaves 0.3 seconds off the car's sprint time.

Porsche released the first model of the 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963, Motor Authority reports. They have continued to use the venue to showcase new cars, including the 2010 and 2011 911 models.
