Porsche found a way to recognize its fans 04/25/2011
As more brands try to reach their fans on social networking sites such as Facebook, Porsche is looking to give back to its supporters.

During the New York auto show, Porsche unveiled its 911 GT3 R Hybrid, which had a blue and white wrap job featuring all of its Facebook fans' names, according to USA Today. Although the current total number of "likes" of the luxury brand is more than 1.5 million, thousands of names are featured on the car.

The news provider reports that it is unknown exactly how many thousands of names showed up, but the list covers just about every outside surface of the car that is not about a window. Of those who did make the recognition cutoff on the car, the source reports they can type their names into Porsche's Facebook site and see where they show up on the vehicle.

The car itself features an engine capable of 480 hp and 80 hp each from both of its motors, which were designed to help the vehicle accelerate in short bursts, according to Inhabitat.
