New Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale offers great performance 12/06/2010
Italian automaker Maserati has announced the price for its upcoming GranTurismo MC Stradale sports car at the Bologna Auto Show.
Autoevolution reports that the GranTurismo MC Stradale, which is scheduled to hit the market in March 2011, will be priced at 154,721 euros, which is the equivalent of $204,053 at the current exchange rate.
According to the source, the new model is the fastest vehicle currently produced by Maserati. The GranTurismo MA Stradale shares the same power source as the GranTurismo S - a 4.7-liter V8 engine - but tweaks to the design of the motor reportedly allow the upcoming car to deliver 450 horsepower and a maximum 390 pound-feet of torque.
Engineers have also reduced the weight of the car from previous models to 1.95 tons with a nearly even weight distribution. This slimmer size, combined with the upgraded engine performance, allows the car to go from zero to 62 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds and gives the vehicle a maximum speed of 186 miles per hour.
Befitting its lofty speed capabilities is the introduction of a race mode in the electronics system, which will allow the driver to take advantage of the increased performance.
