New 2012 Subaru Impreza is stylish and fuel efficient. 07/11/2011
Subaru recently introduced its new 2012 Impreza, which will be available this fall. The new car’s muscular, stylish design is closer to the Legacy’s design than the look of former Imprezas, and the Japanese car maker states that the Impreza is small enough to park and maneuver easily, while providing an additional two inches of leg room for rear passengers.

“With the 2012 Impreza, we’re heavy up on style, and we’re heavy up on fuel efficiency,” Michael McHale, Subaru’s head of corporate communications, told Motor Trend.

The news source states that the new Impreza is the most fuel-efficient all-wheel drive vehicle in America. With a manual transmission, the Japanese car gets 25 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 33 on the highway. The automatic version does a hair better at 27 mpg in the city and 36 highway.

The car’s 2.0-liter Boxer engine is slightly less impressive than the former 2.5-liter model, according to Top Speed. However, the Boxer is easier to service and cleaner than the previous model. People can buy the new car at a base price of $17,500.
