More people are buying BMWs 04/18/2011
As more people are starting to open their wallets in order to purchase new vehicles, some companies are seeing a significant increase in profit.
The BMW Group announced it sold more vehicles this past March than ever before, topping its previous record set in December 2007. The company reports that the company sold approximately 165,842 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles last month. The previous record was 152,721 vehicles sold in a month.
Additionally, the company reported that these significant sales figures were an increase of 17 percent from the previous year and saw an increase of 21.3 percent in sales from the full first quarter last year.
Ian Robertson, a member of the board of management for BMW AG, noted that this year has started out positively for the automaker, and that there are more good things to come as 2011 progresses.
"Sales volume of the year 2011 is expected to rise to well over 1.5 million units, a new all-time high, with the BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brands all achieving new sales volume records," he said.
