Mercedes shows new models at Toronto Auto Show 02/24/2011
The 2012 Mercedes CLS was first unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and it's latest reincarnation was recently displayed during the Toronto Auto Show, according to Globe Drive.
The automaker's C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition was also shown during the event. The vehicle comes equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 481 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. The car can also reach 62 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds and consumers can purchase the vehicle for around $82,331.
Mercedes also showcased its new SLK model. The roadster has a direct injection, 3.5-liter V6 engine that can generate 302 horsepower and reach 60 miles per hour from rest in 5.4 seconds. The manufacturer also plans to launch an entry-level SLK that will come with a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, which is able to achieve 201 horsepower and can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, according to Auto Guide.
Standard editions of the SLK will have features such as climate control, a six-speaker audio system, power-folding outside mirrors and an electronic parking brake. However, Mercedes has yet to announce the automobile's standard and optional equipment.
