Lincoln MKZ vs Hyundai Genesis 02/11/2011
As technology increases and luxury cars begin sporting more features, price tags usually shoot up as well. However, for those drivers willing to look beyond the major brands, there are several options in the entry-level luxury range that deliver comfort and refinement without breaking the bank.

The Hyundai Genesis and Lincoln MKZ are two prime examples of luxury vehicles that fit this mold. Both models are available for less than $35,000, with the MKZ at $34,605 and the Genesis at $35,000. Both models come with great warranties, although Hyundai's is a standout at 10 years/100,000 miles. Lincoln's, while above-average, only covers 6 years/70,000 miles.

Despite being more than $1,500 cheaper than the MKZ, the Genesis boasts a better-performing engine. Producing 290 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque, the Genesis outstrips the MKZ's 263 hp and 249 lb-ft of torque.

Still, the MKZ's Sync system nearly tips the balance back in Lincoln's favor. This high-tech console handles navigation, music, safety and more, all through the use of voice-activated commands. In terms of other features, like dual-climate control, the Lincoln MKZ matches or betters the Genesis in every category.

In the end, however, the Genesis is too good a value to pass up and ultimately offers more value than the MKZ.
