Leno is known for his extensive car collection 04/29/2011
In this country, you have to show off. Whether it's athletic abilities or acting chops, it's all about impressing those who wish they had it all too. The same goes for car collections. We get it - you make millions and can afford some of the nicest rides on the planet. Don't have to rub our faces in it - okay, they are cool to look at. So why don't we step back and take a look at some of the most impressive car collections there are on the planet.
Jerry Seinfeld has been making people laugh for decades, and thanks to his sweet "Seinfeld" syndication deal and an estimated net worth of $800 million, it seems understandable that he would have one of the biggest Porsche collections in the world. See, while other famed collectors may try to have a variety of rides, Seinfeld sticks to what he likes, and has a rented out aircraft hangar at Santa Monica Airport filled with Porsches to prove it - that's right, aircraft hangar full of Porsches.
Are three Rolls Royce Phantoms necessary? No. But when you have a car collection worth close to $5.5 million, I'm sure you'll overlap in your selections. According to Auto Trader, Simon Cowell, who America can thank for introducing them to "American Idol," not only has three Phantoms, but also a number of Jaguars, Porsches, Range Rovers, Mercedes and Audis. We'd definitely consider him an idol in the automotive community.
Finally, no celebrity car collection would be complete without Jay Leno. Leno has more than 100 vehicles, ranging from very rare to just your run of the mill autos. The funnyman has a number of cars that are quite rare, including the Chrysler Turbine, which is one of three that is still operational.
