Land Rover LR2 vs Cadillac SRX 04/01/2011
The luxury SUV is the absolute pinnacle of comfort, as these large and cushy vehicles ensure that drivers will always be riding in style. While it's hard to go wrong buying a big car with all the trimmings, some do provide greater value than others. We stacked up two popular mid-range options, the Cadillac SRX and Land Rover LR2, to see which offered drivers more bang for their buck.
With a starting price tag of $35,700, the LR2 is the more expensive of the two vehicles, as the SRX is priced at $34,430. Land Rover offers a standard 4 year/50,000 mile warranty, while Cadillac beats it with a 5 year/100,000 mile pledge.
Both cars have strengths and weaknesses, with the SRX producing more horsepower while the LR2 gets more torque. Cadillac fans can expect 265 horsepower, 223 lb-ft of torque and 18/25 mpgs. LR2 buyers will get 230 horsepower, 234 lb-ft of torque and 15/22 mpgs.
Cadillac stumbles on the interior, as the automaker forces buyers to purchase expensive trim upgrades if they want more features. By contrast, the LR2 is generous with standard features, like a premium sound system, parking assistance, keyless ignition and more. The other features are also individual options rather being than tied to one trim level.
We give the edge here to the LR2, as the interior is much nicer and it also gets more torque.
