Lamborghini's new vehicle debuts at auto show 03/02/2011
The new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, which will be replacing the automaker's Murcielago, was recently showcased at the Geneva Auto Show. Consumers can expect to pay $379,700 when the car comes to the U.S. this year, according to Edmunds Inside Line.
The vehicle will come equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine that can generate 690 hp. It will also come with a seven-speed automatic gearbox, the news source reported.
The sports car reaches60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 217 miles per hour.
Lamborghini officials also explained the name of the vehicle, saying, "Aventador was the name of a bull that entered into battle in October 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the 'Trofeo de la Pena La Madronera' for its outstanding courage."
Although a lot of the autombile's information leaked long before it debuted at Geneva, car enthusiasts were finally able to learn the dimensions of the vehicle. The Aventador's length is 188.2 inches and is 89 inches in width. The automobile's height is 44.7 inches as well.
