Jeep began production in Toledo this week on its 2011 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, and Chrysler Group has given consumers a sneak peek of the new model.
The exterior of the new Wranglers get a few redesigns, reports the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), with removable, body-colored hardtops, heated power mirrors and a larger rear window, but most of the changes have been done in the interior of the car.
Next years model features upgraded door armrests, new storage areas, lockable console and a redesigned instrument panel.
The car now also has radio, phone and cruise control capabilities on the steering wheel, a USB interface and a 12-volt power outlet.
"The iconic Jeep Wrangler keeps getting better. While retaining unmatched, legendary capability, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler boasts an all-new interior that delivers a host of comfort, convenience and versatility features," said Mike Manley, CEO of Jeep, according to USA Today.
The WSJ reports Jeeps new look is part of Chrysler's plan to refresh its product portfolio in order to increase sales. The Wrangler is one of the automakers most popular vehicles.
