Jaguar XF vs Lexus GS 460 03/02/2011
Drivers in the market for high-end luxury sedans might be drawn to vehicles like the Lexus GS 460 and Jaguar XF. Both of these vehicles are worthy of high praise, but which one ultimately comes out on top?

The GS 460 has a slightly higher price tag at $54,750 compared to the XF at $52,500, but it comes with a better warranty to close the gap a bit. Lexus backs the vehicle with a 6 year/70,000 mile pledge, which is a noticeable improvement over Jaguar's 5 year/50,000 warranty.

Despite being cheaper, the XF comes with a significantly larger engine, with a 5.0-liter V8 producing 385 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The GS 460 only packs a 4.6-liter V8 that gets 342 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Still, we prefer the Lexus' 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission to the 6-speed found on the Jaguar.

The interiors of both vehicles are similarly well-equipped, with features like dual climate control, heated seats and keyless ignition standard. However, the Jaguar comes with a dashboard system that features both GPS navigation and parking assist.

In the end, the XF's better features and increased power for a lower price are enough to beat out the GS 460.
