Infiniti unveils the M35 Hybrid 07/05/2010
The folks at Infiniti have recently confirmed that the company's first-ever production hybrid will be available for purchase in the spring of 2011. Officially titled the M35 Hybrid, Infiniti's new luxury performance sedan is being marketed as the cleanest and most fuel-efficient vehicle in the company's history, according to RSportsCars.com.

Infiniti's goal for the 2012 M35 Hybrid is to add to, and not take away from, the driving experience. It is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired with a lithium-ion battery pack, which is reportedly twice as powerful as conventional hybrid car batteries of the same size.

What really sets the M35 Hybrid apart from other vehicles in its class is its dual-clutch system. While the first clutch connects the electric motor directly to the drivetrain, the second is installed between the naturally-aspirated V6 and the electric motor, which allows the full decoupling of the engine when in either power regeneration of electric mode, MotorAuthority.com reports.

The innovative new system will reportedly boost the efficiency of the motor, enabling the M35 to be driven in electric mode nearly 50 percent of the time.
