Infiniti G25 vs Acura TSX 01/25/2011
When many drivers think of luxury, they often narrow their focus to the three major German brands: Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. However, Japan's Big Three also have luxury brands, and these models offer drivers their own brand of performance and styling.
Two models that luxury shoppers may want to consider are the Acura TSX and Infiniti G25 sedan. The TSX starts out a bit cheaper than the G25, with a $29,610 price tag compared to the G25's $31,400 sticker. Still, a lower price doesn't always indicate better value, as an examination of the specifications will show.
Drivers might be paying $1,800 more for the G25, but they're getting something tangible - a V6 engine. The TSX's inline-four cannot hope to match the output of the extra two cylinders on the Infiniti model. The G25's 328 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque clearly overpower the TSX's 201 horsepower and 170 lb-ft.
The TSX boasts some interior advantages, like a standard iPod hookup, Bluetooth and heated seats. However, it's not enough to overcome the massive difference in power. Even though it's slightly more expensive, the G25 lives up to its price tag, making it the clear choice.
