High-end luxury cars go on display at the New England Auto Show 12/06/2010
Car enthusiasts in New England can catch a glimpse of some of the world's rarest and most desirable cars at the New England Auto Show, according to the Boston Herald.
The show, which is being held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, is being held through Sunday, December 5.
Highlights of the show's "Dream Cars" exhibit include the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a new top-of-the-line sports car that retails for $186,000, and the Rolls-Royce Ghost, a saloon automobile that is priced at $506,000.
Other so-called dream cars being featured are the $285,000 Bentley Mulsanne and a pair of Ferrari Californias that retail for a quarter of a million dollars apiece.
The overall theme of the New England Auto Show is "Roadway to the Future", with organizers hoping to display new technologies that will shape the automotive industry in coming years. Electric cars like the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf will be put on display, as will a new plug-in Toyota Prius.
"We're showing off where the auto industry is headed - electric cars, hybrids - even gas-powered vehicles that get 40 miles per gallon," show producer Barbara Pudney told the source.
