GMC Acadia vs Volvo XC60 03/11/2011
There are a wide range of crossovers on the market, so choosing the right one can be difficult. To make the process a bit easier, we compared the GMC Acadia and Volvo XC60 side-by-side to see which offered drivers more bang for their buck.

Both models are close in price, but the XC60 is just a little bit more expensive at $32,400 compared to the Acadia at $31,840. Despite being the cheaper car, the Acadia offers a better warranty at 5 years/100,000 miles, with Volvo only backing the car for 5 years/60,000 miles.

Although both vehicles have six cylinder engines, the Acadia opts for a V6 while the Volvo uses an inline configuration. That allows the Acadia to produce 288 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, while the XC60 features 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft. The inline configuration is typically better for fuel economy, but the Volvo only boasts a 1 mpg edge for both city and highway.

The Volvo XC60 interior is superior in nearly every way, except for the Acadia's OnStar system. Volvo buyers will get dual climate control, Bluetooth, HD radio, power seats and iPod support as standard features. In addition, Volvo allows buyers to purchase additional features as they like, rather than force them into higher trim levels as GMC does.

It's a tough call, but we believe that the XC60 is close enough performance-wise to justify the purchase, especially once the really nice interior is factored into the equation.
