GM to debut new car based on the Chevrolet Camaro at the Chicago Auto Show 03/30/2011
General Motors is set to unveil a new Chevrolet model based on its classic Camaro muscle car at the upcoming 2011 Chicago Auto Show, reports the Detroit News.

Mark Reuss, the president of General Motors North America, discussed the new plans with reporters and auto industry experts at a recent J.D. Power forum before making an appearance at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention.

He made a point of not revealing too many details regarding the new car in advance of the show, citing his wish for the vehicle to maintain some element of surprise.

"It will be fun. I'm not going to give you guys any product information other than what I gave [in the presentation]," Reuss reportedly said. "I'd ruin the whole show."

GM ran an advertisement for the Chevrolet Camaro during the Super Bowl, one of six commercials the company aired during the championship game.

In addition to the new vehicle based on the Camaro, Reuss said that GM would be debuting at least one more new car at the Chicago show, although he declined to tell reporters any details regarding what kind of vehicle it might be.
