Dodge Durango returns to the market after a two-year absence 11/23/2010
The Los Angeles Auto Show will see the debut of Dodge's updated 2011 Durango SUV after two years out of production.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the behemoth SUV makes up for its serious size - a full two-and-a-half tons - with serious power. Consumers can choose to purchase the car with a Pentastar V-6 engine, which puts out 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine, which produces 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.

The updated Durango is based on the same new unibody platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it expands the wheelbase by five inches and lengthens the car as a whole by 10 inches.

Drivers buying the 2011 Durango will be able to choose from four different versions of the vehicle. The Express, the base model, has an MSRP just over $30,000. The Crew is the standard mid-range version, while the performance-maximizing R/T and top-of-the-line Citadel versions provide improved power and luxury for a price nearing $50,000.
