Consumers purchase all of Ferrari's FF 03/23/2011
Consumers who want to purchase the new Ferrari FF will have to wait until the second half of 2012, as the Italian car company recently announced that it sold out of the luxury sports car, according to Auto Week.
The FF sells for $368,700 and Ferrari plans to make just 800 units each year. As of now, the automaker is increasing production and hopes to build 70 every month by June. The car company also announced that all 800 units of the FF sold out since mid-January, reported the news source.
"Our 4wd system weighs about 45kgs (99 pounds), half of traditional 4wd systems which, to transfer torque to the front wheels in 4wd mode, need a central and a front differential," the chief engineer for the FF, Andrea Binotti, said in a press statement.
The vehicle will replace the 612 Scaglietti and comes equipped with a 6.3-liter V12 engine that can generate 651 hp and 504 lb-ft of torque.
Earlier this month, Lamborghini announced it sold out of its Aventador LP700-4 after debuting it at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.
