Company statements have indicated the new model will have a new look in comparison to other Avengers 04/25/2011
Chrysler Group LLC is planning to unveil its brand new 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T during the 2011 New York International Auto Show. While the media will get a first-hand look at the vehicle on April 20, consumers will be able to visit the new model between April 22 and May 1.

Engineers have been working to make this vehicle's suspension specific to the R/T model, such as increasing roll stiffness by 18 percent and spring rates by 17 percent in the front and 12 percent in the rear.

The company announced that the Avenger R/T model's exterior will include a body-color grille, black headlamp background and 18-inch painted aluminum wheels. The car will also be intriguing to those looking to save on gas, as it has an EPA fuel economy rating of 29 mpg highway.

"The Avenger R/T makes driving a mid-size car a really fun, engaging experience," said Ralph Gilles, president and chief executive officer of the Dodge brand. "The Avenger R/T offers performance design cues both inside and out, as well as unique handling characteristics and a sport-tuned suspension. It's a vehicle that is ready to earn its stripes as part of the Dodge performance family of vehicles."
