Car enthusiasts who can't wait to see the newest version of Volkswagen's famous Beetle will be pleased to know that the German car company will debut the vehicle before the 2011 Shanghai and New York auto shows, according to Edmunds Inside Line.

The automaker has teamed up with MTV and will showcase the vehicle on April 18. It will then be displayed at the two auto shows later in the month. The event will take place in Shanghai and will be hosted by MTV VJs. The vehicle will be shown off in Berlin and finally New York, the news source reported.

A spokesman for the car firm recently announced that the Beetle would hit the U.S. market sometime in 2011, but pricing has not been revealed.

In addition, Volkswagen has yet to announced a lot of information about the car, such as specifications. However, the car company said that "the new Beetle's exterior reinterprets the silhouette of the famous Volkswagen Beetle and combines stylistic elements borrowed from the original with the latest technology."
