BMW will be giving one of the big reveals 04/15/2011
As auto lovers around the world look to the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, we're all checking out the cars with the best gadgets. When Audi released the details of their new Q3 yesterday, many people were eager to talk about the vehicle's WiFi capabilities, which is perfect for today's consumer, who is more or less likely a slave to their smartphone.

However, there is a lot more where that came from, as we gear up for some big reveals from some of the top automakers in the world. Of course, the luxury automakers BMW and Mercedes have to make their big reveals, possibly driving a bigger wedge between the rivals.

CNET reports that while BMW is planning to introduce an electric vehicle that is specifically catered to the Chinese market, the rest of the world will get the first look at the Concept M5, which will be offered to a larger audience.

The car will run by a twin-turbocharged 4.4 L V8 engine and a seven-speed transmission. The news provider is reporting that the power train on the vehicle should generate 560 horsepower. The M5 is set to go on sale in North America next year.

The New York Times reports that General Motors has plans to debut the 2013 Chevy Malibu at the Shanghai auto show, with plans for the car to go into production early in 2012.

Finally, the news provider reports that Subaru is planning to release a new kind of crossover vehicle known as the Subaru XV. Although vague images have been released, all that is known thus far is that the car appears to resemble a super version of the Outback.
